Kite Runner
I recently decided to make an effort to read more fiction books. My first attempt to branch out was...
I had heard about his book, watched the author interview with Oprah, and been bugged by my Mom to give it a try. I did, and it was very good. It's a haunting story about one man's valiant attempt to outrun his past. The book has plenty of plot twist to keep your attention, but more interesting is the unique take on life in Afghanistan. It's definitely worth some "spare time" reading.
I went today and picked up a second book called "Water for Elephants" by Sara Gruen. I'm gonna try and squeeze it in before I move back to Belton next Wednesday. I'll let you know how that attempt goes.
